Swimming Lessons (Short Film Trailer 2025)

Swimming Lessons is a personal, reflexive film that follows a daughter of Chinese immigrants who yearns to understand her transoceanic family’s expressions of grief. During a summer visit to the home her parents left behind in Beijing, China, she tries to learn what they never taught her: how to navigate a heat wave, how to cook watermelon, and how to say goodbye. Angela layered haunting “doo doo” harmonies over 70s-inspired Chinese melodies, weaving in playful vocals, erhu, and chopstick beats.

Taste of Taiwan (Short Documentary)

A traveler's journey to Taiwan, an island country rich in history and culture. Film by: Godwin Isaac

With her passion for storytelling through music, Angela has woven traditional Taiwanese melodies (using the erhu, “Chinese violin”) with modern musical elements inspired by Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar score to create a unique and captivating soundscape. From the bustling streets of Taipei to the tranquil countryside, Angela's composition brings to life the sights, sounds, and experiences of a traveler's journey to Taiwan

Angela retells the story of biological diversity, providing an original score using over 30 instruments and bringing the animal kingdom to life.

Are You Still There? (Short Film 2023)

Two friends catch up only to stumble into a debate about the different directions their lives have gone.

Yosemite Firefall

Thousands flock to Yosemite National Park in mid-February to see a natural phenomenon nicknamed “the firefall,” when waning sunlight strikes Horsetail Fall on the famed rock face of El Capitan. The waterfall, backlighted by the setting sun, reminds many visitors of a lava flow.

Angela captures the curiosity of park visitors by mixing her own recordings of atmospheric violin with electronic flute and piano, creating an ambient soundscape for listeners.
